Military Outreach

SGSC honors and appreciates the men and women of our armed services. We are approved for the educational training of veterans and certain eligible spouses and dependents of veterans. SGSC serves only as a source of certification and information to the Veterans Administration as all financial transactions and eligibility determinations are handled directly between the student and the VA. Veterans and other eligible persons interested in obtaining educational benefits must meet all applicable requirements for admissions. Any questions regarding the eligibility of a veteran or dependent can be answered by calling the Department of Veterans Affairs at 1-888-GIBILL1.

Requirements:

• Application for enrollment
• One-time $20 application fee
• Official high school transcripts with graduation date or official GED scores
• Official college transcripts (if applicable) 
• An immunization record completed by a health care professional
• Lawful presence
• DD 214 (if applicable)
• AccuPlacer Test scores *
• Note: please allow 5-7 business days for processing.

      *The AccuPlacer is used for placement purposes to determine whether learning support classes are needed. The AccuPlacer test can be exempted if one of the following requirements are met:

• New SAT scores:
• 24 Reading for all majors
• 22 Math for Non-STEM Majors
• 25.5 for STEM Majors
• Old SAT scores:
• 430 English for all majors 
• 400 Math for Non-STEM Majors
• 470 Math for STEM Majors
• ACT scores:
• 17 English for all majors
• 17 Math for Non-STEM Majors
• 20 Math for STEM Major
