Feb. 10 Game 2: Five-Hit Day for Calabro as SGSC Hawks Skirts Past Brewton Parker JV

Anthony Calabro was in the zone Monday, Feb. 10, 2020, tallying five hits and leading the South Georgia State College (SGSC) Hawks to a 17-2 win over Brewton Parker JV in game two of a doubleheader. Calabro singled in the first, tripled in the first, singled in the third, homered in the fourth, and singled in the sixth.

The Hawks secured the victory thanks to 10 runs in the first inning. South Georgia’s big bats that totaled 17 hits were led by Calabro with five hits in five a bats, Tony Player with three hits, Cole Gregory and JT Rice with two hits each and Kristian Navarro, along with Brandon Redd at one hit apiece, who all drove in runs. Greg Wozniak added one hit to the total count. Calabro had the single home run on the day with a dinger in the fourth inning.

The Hawks stole six bases during the game., Jackson Howell and Tony Player led with two each. Brandon Redd and Anthony Calabro added one stolen base apiece.

Logan Velez pitched the Hawks to victory. He surrendered one run on three hits over four innings, striking out seven and walking one. Cameron Nunn threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
