We are students who care about student issues, and we actively work to find solutions alongside College administration. We aren't just offering a seat at the table; we're building a brand new one.

What SGA Has Accomplished

During the past year, SGSC Student Government Association members have:

Helped provide free tampons and pads in high-traffic women's restrooms.
Addressed faculty and staff at Fall 2026 Convocation.
Welcomed new students during SOAR events throughout Summer 2026.
Volunteered to help residential students move in for Fall 2026.
Hosted events including SGA Waffle Nachos, Not-Just-Couples Valentine's and other student activities.
Edited the SGA Constitution.

And we have many more things planned for the upcoming year!

Positions Available

Senator	Social Media Manager
Graphic Designer	Campus Activities Board Member
Club Ambassador	RA Representative

Club Ambassador: For students already involved in an existing campus club who would like to help represent their organization.

RA Representative: For Residential Assistants serving in the residence halls on the Douglas Campus.

Membership Requirements

Must be a current student at South Georgia State College.
The candidate must not be on, or have been on, conduct probation, academic probation or special action as specified by the judicial system. An appeal of this qualification may be granted by the Dean of Students.
Must have a minimum cumulative institutional GPA of 2.5 during the semester in which the application is submitted.

Membership Expectations

Attend General Body Meetings held every other Monday at 4:00 p.m.
Participate in at least one SGA committee.
