Our Student-Athlete Commitment
The athletic program at SGSC is designed to be different from other programs in the nation. We know there is more to a successful athletic program than just winning games. Our program is designed to teach athletes the key elements that will make their current and future lives more successful. We do this in a family environment where we truly care about our student-athletes’ personal, educational, and athletic needs.
The Men’s Basketball program is fully committed to the mission of the athletic program. In 17 years as a basketball program, we have averaged more than 22 wins a season with 375 total wins. SGSC won the GCAA Tournament Championship in 2025-26, 2024-25, 2022-23, 2020-21, and 2010-11, and the GCAA Regular Season Championship in 2024-25 and 2014-15.

SGSC has made the conference tournament all 16 years eligible while also being nationally ranked in numerous defensive categories. The Hawks are the only GCAA team to win an NJCAA Tournament game since 2015-16, and Coach Cory Baldwin is the only active GCAA head coach with an NJCAA Tournament win, with two wins at Hutchinson.
Equally important is the success of our student-athletes off the court. We are proud of what our student-athletes accomplish while they are at SGSC, but we know they will go on to accomplish even more.
