Spring 2021 Commencement Ceremonies
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Due to the inclement weather forecast for Thursday, May 13, the Douglas campus commencement ceremony scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on the front lawn of Peterson Hall has been moved indoors to the Wellness Center Gymnasium. The change for the morning ceremony does not affect the times and locations of the Douglas campus 6:00 pm ceremony or either ceremony on Friday at the Waycross campus.

South Georgia State College is pleased to announce tickets are no longer required for spring 2021 commencement ceremonies. Based on recent guidance received from the Governor’s Executive Order, SGSC’s spring 2021 commencement is now a general admission, first come, first serve event. Any previously issued tickets are now void. Face coverings and social distancing are still strongly encouraged. Guests who have experienced COVID-19 symptoms within the past 14 days and who have not followed CDC recommended quarantine protocols may not attend. Guests experiencing COVID-19 symptoms on the day of the ceremonies may not attend.
The Douglas Campus ceremonies will be held Thursday, May 13, 2021. The first ceremony will be at 8:30 am on the Peterson Lawn (MOVED TO WELLNESS CENTER GYMNASIUM) and the second at 6:00 pm in the Wellness Center Gym. The Waycross Campus ceremonies will be held Friday, May 14, 2021. The first ceremony will be at 12:30 pm and the second at 7:00 pm, both in the Waycross Campus Gymnasium. Students earning degrees in associate transfer pathways and baccalaureate programs will be recognized, including the first students earning the Bachelor of Science in Elementary/Special Education. Graduates will still participate in the ceremony date and time assigned to them. The instructions for your ceremony have been attached to this email.
