Time to give back!

Charity Couey, a former teacher education student at SGSC, has been hired as part-time faculty for our new Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood/Special Education degree program.  She says, "I'm a college instructor!! This school year, in addition to teaching at Telfair County Elementary School (TCES), I will be a part-time instructor at South Georgia State College. This fall, SGSC launched their first cohort for a bachelor's degree in Elementary and Special Education. I am both thrilled and humbled to be given the opportunity to have a part in this. I loved my time at SGSC as a student and always dreamed of coming back one day to teach. I want to thank Dr. Carson for hiring me and giving me this opportunity. Almost a decade ago I began at SGSC as his student and over the years he has been a great teacher, mentor, and friend. Thank you for having faith in me and encouraging me to set high goals for myself. It's going to be a busy and exciting school year! I am ready! Let's do this!"
