Syllabus Information
Statement on Plagiarism and Academic Dishonesty:
The first time a student is determined by the faculty member to have intentionally plagiarized will result in a zero for that assignment. Any other intentional infractions will result in an F for the course.
Policy on Late or Make-Up Work:
Equitability and fairness require that students all be held to the same standard when work is turned in late. At the beginning of each semester, all instructors will inform students of course-specific guidelines for late or make-up work. The guidelines will be fairly and evenly enforced. See Course Requirements and Grading Criteria for specific details for this course.

Counseling Statement for Douglas and Waycross Campus:
The University System of Georgia has launched a program to expand mental health resources. South Georgia State College joined with them to offer its students access to the help and support needed while trying to navigate the changes and challenges many face. Uwill gives students free immediate access to telecounseling, a direct crisis connection, and wellness programming through its easy to use online platform.
Telecounseling:
- Students can schedule up to (4) teletherapy appointments with a licensed counselor based on needs and preferences.
- Choose a therapist based on immediacy, gender, language, focus area
- Select a time that works best, with day, evening and weekend appointments.
- Create your profile and get started in minutes.
- Counselors can refer students to Upsych for psychiatric services, if needed.
Crisis Support:
- If a student is experiencing a mental health crisis, Uwill provides a direct connection to a licensed counselor trained in trauma
- Help is available 24/7/365 by calling 833.646.1526
- If you are having a medical emergency, please call 911.
Wellness:
- Students can access free on-demand wellness programming on the Uwill platform.
- Select wellness from the left navigation.
- Relax & recharge your mind and body with yoga, meditation, mindfulness, and more!

Library:
Assignments may be included requiring students to make use of the resources provided in and through the Library. It may require general library orientation or subject discipline resource instruction presentations to classes.
Library assistance and resources are available to assist students on two campuses. The William S. Smith Library is located on the Douglas campus – 912.260.4335. The Waycross Campus Library located in the Administrative Building (A) on the Waycross campus – 912.449.7515.
Hours vary by location. Personal research assistance is provided by staff on both campuses to answer reference questions, assist with citation and works cited pages, develop search strategies and more. You can schedule a more in-depth in-person or virtual consultation with a librarian to get you started.
Locate print and more than 500,000 electronic books through the online catalog and full-text articles and other content from the GALILEO virtual library from the Libraries’ home page.
GAVIEW:
GAVIEW is SGSC’s online classroom portal. It will be used by all faculty. Log in for grades, class updates, and a copy of the syllabus, as well as other information and assignments your professor provides.
