Study Abroad Opportunities

South Georgia State College has a rich history of providing opportunities for students to study abroad. As a member of the University System of Georgia (USG), SGSC makes a wide variety of international locations available to study through our partnership with the USG Goes Global initiative. USG Goes Global is an administrative unit of the USG that provides quality, affordable, and impactful faculty-led study abroad experiences to all USG students.

SGSC students are welcome and encouraged to take part in a wide variety of Study Abroad opportunities through the USG Goes Global programs. The USG Goes Global initiative not only allows SGSC students to study abroad with other SGSC students, but also with students from all 26 USG institutions. Recent potential places of travel have included Edinburgh, Scotland; Germany; London, England; Madrid, Spain; Paris, France; Porto, Portugal; Waterford, Ireland; China, and Vietnam.

Application Deadline

Application deadlines for the USG Goes Global programs are typically in February or March for the summer programs, depending on the program.
