South Georgia State College Theatre Productions presents Doubt, A Parable by Award-Winning Playwright John Patrick Shanley

Posted on Mar 28, 2019

SGSC Theatre Productions is thrilled to announce its upcoming production of John Patrick Shanley’s Doubt, A Parable –a compelling story that will challenge an audience on living with the idea of uncertainty rather than conviction.

Doubt, A Parable is set in the Bronx in 1964. In this brilliant and powerful drama, Sister Aloysius, a Bronx school principal, takes matters into her own hands when she suspects the young Father Flynn of improper relations with one of the male students.

“John Patrick Shanley’s play Doubt, A Parable, won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony Award for best play nearly 14 years ago, but its timeliness hasn’t faded. Shanley’s message about the challenges of living with conviction in an uncertain world feels eerily relevant alongside today’s headlines as it did when the play premiered in 2004,” explained LeRoy-Lawson, SGSC Assistant Professor of Theatre and director of the show.

Please come out and witness the amazing work of the talented cast and crew of Doubt, A Parable. Cast members are Victoria Highsmith as Sister Aloysius, Tristan Bulkhalter as Mrs. Muller, Ivee Cole as Sister James and Hunter Moore as Father Brendan Flynn.
