SGSC To Host Ribbon Cutting for Alumni House

Posted on Jul 15, 2015

South Georgia State College proudly invites the community to the official ribbon cutting and open house for the newly-renovated Alumni House on Monday, July 27, 2015, from 4:00-6:00 pm.

The facility was built in the 1950s during the tenure of President William S. Smith. The Alumni House formerly served as the residence of several presidents in the College’s history from 1958-2005. Due to University System of Georgia policy changes concerning on-campus residences, the building has served as office space since that time. During the past year, SGSC has renovated the facility to help preserve the original character as well as enhance the space’s functionality to also include meeting spaces for college and community groups.

The ribbon cutting will take place at 4:00 with a reception and open house to follow. Parking will be available in front of the Alumni House or in the Stubbs Hall lot across the street. Golf carts will also be available to transport guests as needed.
