SGSC Nursing Students Support Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Posted on Oct 30, 2015

Second-year nursing students on South Georgia State College’s (SGSC) Waycross Campus recently showed their support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month by wearing pink and forming a breast cancer awareness ribbon between classes. Lauren Thornton, assistant professor of nursing, said the activity was in conjunction with recent lectures on breast cancer, and all of the students wanted to show their support for the cause. “The students participated on their own with no grade attached,” said Thornton. “This is a really good group of students, and our School of Nursing is compassionate toward those who have suffered, or are currently suffering, from breast cancer.” For more information about SGSC’s School of Nursing, please call (912) 260-4356.
