SGSC Falls To Albany Tech

Posted on Dec 13, 2015

The South Georgia State College Hawks lost their second consecutive conference game Saturday afternoon, falling to the Albany Tech Titans 64-63.

“This was a tough one to take,” said Head Coach Cory Baldwin. “We’ve had back-to-back games where we missed a lot of easy shots around the bucket. We’ve just got to get back to work and get our confidence up.”

Tyrone Sam led the Hawks (10-2, 0-2) with 19 points. Zaquavion Smith finished with 17 points, including a perfect 4-for-4 from the three-point line. Andre Elam had nine points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

The Hawks outrebounded the Titans 40-31 while the Titans finished atop all shooting categories as well as won the turnover battle.

SGSC will travel to USC-Salkehatchie Tuesday and then host the Fort Benning All-Army Team Thursday, Dec. 17 at 7 p.m in a non-conference matchup. General admission to all regular season home games is five dollars with children five and under admitted free.
