SGSC and the Satilla Regional Library System partner for internship program

Posted on Aug 07, 2014

South Georgia State College (SGSC) and the Satilla Regional Library System have partnered together for a new Dual Public/Academic Library Internship Program. The program allows individuals to receive training and professional development opportunities in both public and academic librarianship. Opportunities will include developing and teaching classes for the public to learn basic computer skills, bibliographic instruction at the college level, and library collection development and management.

This past summer semester SGSC and Satilla Regional Library welcomed Caitlin Cox of Anniston, Ala. as the program’s first intern. Cox is a graduate student currently working towards her Master’s degree in Library and Information Studies at the University of Alabama (UA).  Cox is expected to graduate from UA this fall.

For more information about the dual internship program please contact Mark Cole, director of the Satilla Regional Library System at colem@srlsys.org.
