Feb. 1: Sante Fe Captures Lead Early to Defeat SGSC Hawks

South Georgia State College (SGSC) Hawks watched the opening game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 9-2 loss to Sante Fe Saturday, Feb. 1, 2020.

The SGSC Hawks struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Sante Fe, giving up nine runs.

South Georgia tallied nine hits on the day. Mason Spivey led the Hawks with three hits in five at bats. Kody Krause, and JR Lonon each managed two hits. Tyler Spence and Clayton Spivey added one hit apiece.

Matt Thompson took the loss for SGSC Hawks. He allowed seven hits and six runs over four innings, striking out one.
