Cahill, Lee receive Rotary Club scholarships

Two students at South Georgia State College’s Waycross Campus have been awarded $250 scholarships from the Waycross Rotary Club.  Christy Cahill and Melissa Lee, both of Waycross, received their scholarships at a recent weekly meeting of the Club.

Cahill is a 2011 graduate of Ware County High School and is majoring in English.  She is the secretary for the Waycross Campus Student Government Association and vice president of the Sci-Fi and Fantasy Club.  She has also been a member of the Waycross Campus Relay for Life team.

Lee is a 2008 graduate of Pierce County High School and is majoring in Middle Grades Education.  Her ultimate goal is to obtain a bachelor’s degree from Albany State University and teach mathematics at the middle school level.  She is a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Dr. David Morton, director of the Rotary Club’s scholarship committee, presented the scholarships to Cahill and Lee.
