Bull signs with Thomas University

Posted on May 23, 2014

Ty Bull, a member of South Georgia State College’s men’s basketball team, has signed a letter of intent to continue his basketball career at Thomas University in Thomasville, Ga.

Bull, a 6’5” sophomore from McDonough, Ga., averaged 9.6 points and 7.8 rebounds for the Hawks during the 2013-2014 season.  He finished among the top 10 players in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association in offensive rebounds (114).

“I’m excited to play for Thomas University,” said Bull.  “My family loves Thomas and believes that is the best spot for me.  I will miss Waycross, though.  There are a lot of great people, places, and memories here.  My SGSC coaches and teammates will always be a part of my family.”

Head coach Cory Baldwin said Bull’s improvement as a player will benefit him greatly at the next level.

“Ty is one of the most improved players I’ve ever coached,” said Baldwin.  “He lost more than 60 pounds while he was here, which really helped him improve.  I’m proud of Ty for signing with Thomas University.”

Bull will join former teammates Keldrick Davis, Adam McLeod, and T.J. Rines at Thomas University next season.

“I look forward to playing with T.J., Keldrick, and Adam and playing for coach (Stephen) Cox,” said Bull.

Bull is the third player from last season’s team to sign with a four-year college or university.  Thirty-three of Baldwin’s players have signed letters of intent to play at the next level since the program began in 2009.
